Does Composite Decking Fade?

Grey Composite Decking Path - Assured Composite
Composite Decking Path

Giving you the low down on just how fade resistant composite decking truly is…

Everything weathers to a degree

Wood’s inability to hold its colour without help from paints and sealants is a testament to just how damaging the weather can be on outdoor surfaces especially in Britain.

Continually being exposed to the sun day-after-day, outdoor decking has a lot to deal with when compared to indoor flooring.

What’s great about our composite products is that once they have reached their weathered colour tone, the rate of colour change from that point onwards is nominal unlike timber, where it will often continue to fade year-on-year.

Timber is great and looks natural but you’ve got to take the wear and tear into the decision and with composite decking, once you have installed it you are good to go for many many years. Composites won’t splinter or crack, which is great if you have kids or pets walking around.

At the end of the day you don’t want to pay out twice for your decking in the space of a few years and that’s what you would do if you opted for timber!

Our composite boards have protection from the effects of UV rays, making these our most fade resistant and stain resistant composite decking boards.

Our capped composite which is the our Elite range, has a polymer protective 4 sided shell that is colour consistent from start to finish.

With the British weather being so unpredictable and the ice, rain and even wind being so damaging that’s another vote for fade resistant and stain resistant composite decking.

Effectively the boards will look throughout their lifespan, year-after-year. easy to wash when spills do happen. That makes composites an ideal choice for families, especially if you enjoy cooking or dining outside on your deck.

Luckily, our composite decking solutions are created with fade resistant and stain resistant properties and their resistance to the weather trumps that of timber alternatives.
